Art as a Bridge between Worlds
Art that shines: The unique Ethno-Pop-Art Experience
In my art, I merge the powerful energy of Pop Art with profound ethnological themes inspired by my travels and spiritual connections. My works are a tribute to the diversity and beauty of creation. Each of my journeys—whether to Morocco, Namibia, or Botswana—opens new perspectives and deepens my understanding of the world’s diverse cultures. These experiences flow into my art, creating pieces that go beyond the obvious and forge deeper connections.
The connection between spirituality and art is essential to me. The practices of indigenous peoples, their ancestral rituals, and the belief in creator inspire me and are reflected in my paintings, which always call for profound respect for creation.
My art is characterized by a strong sense of social responsibility. I support charitable projects in South America and Africa by donating my works for raffles and sponsoring orphanages and workshops. These social commitments reflect my belief that art has the power to bring about positive change and support people in challenging life circumstances.
I aim to create a world where peace, respect, and love for creation form the foundation of our coexistence. My colorful, high-contrast motifs reflect the lives of indigenous peoples and their close connection to nature. At times fragile and vulnerable, at times strong and self-assured, they speak of a deep longing for a universal world ethos. Each painting is a plea for peaceful coexistence and a call to reflect on the great issues of our time and engage in dialogue.
„My vision is to create a world where peace, respect, and love for creation form the foundation of our coexistence. Through my art, I strive to carry this dream into people's hearts and pave the way for a peaceful, fulfilling, and sustainable world.“
New beginnings, passion, Ethno-Pop Art:
Eva Bur am Orde's journey into the international Art World
Eva Bur am Orde, born in 1961 in Essen, discovered the power of art as a form of expression and outlet at an early age. A defining experience was her months-long isolation in a clinic, where she was confined to bed with an ice pack on her chest. This time spent immersed in the inner world of her imagination laid the foundation for her future artistic career. The smell of oil paints and her mother’s passionate enthusiasm for painting left a deep impression on her and awakened her calling to become an artist.
After graduating from high school, Eva initially chose a conventional career and worked as a foreign language secretary in her father's company in Berlin. However, after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent dissolution of the company, she took the leap into the art world. In Munich, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts, initially studying interior design before ultimately switching to the painting and large composition class under Franz Bernhard Weisshaar. Her education was further enriched by a guest semester in interdisciplinary art and painting with Hermann Nitsch at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main.
Eva’s style, which she calls 'Ethno-Pop Art,' reflects her experiences with diverse cultures and social structures. Her current work focuses primarily on endangered indigenous peoples and animals threatened with extinction, aiming to build a bridge from the origins of humanity to the present. Her vibrant, powerful, and energetic paintings carry a strong message: a call to preserve cultures and individuals.
Eva's works have gained international recognition, been acquired by private and public collections, and exhibited in museums in America, Switzerland, and Germany. Today, Eva Bur am Orde lives and works in Rottweil, the oldest city in Baden-Württemberg.
